A sickening racist attack on a security guard by a man on a Brisbane train has been condemned by internet users.

TWO teenagers are expected to be charged over the racist attack on a Brisbane train after video of the attack went viral over the weekend.

Addressing media Sunday afternoon, Assistant Commissioner Alistair Dawson said two men, aged 17 and 18, were being questioned with several charges expecting to be laid.

He said police had been called to the incident, which happened near Indooroopilly train station on October 2, at 11.50pm but did not realise the severity of the incident until Saturday night when video of the tirade went viral online.

Police are waiting to speak to other agencies to lay charges. Assistant Commisioner Dawson said charges never before used could be laid against the teens.

The security guard remained calm during the entire five-minute ordeal.

TWO men are being questioned by police over a racist attack on a Brisbane train.

The 17-year-old and an 18-year-old are assisting the investigation voluntarily.

No charges have been laid.

The sickening racist attack on a security guard at Indooroopilly Station on October 2 was filmed and posted on the internet and has caused outrage.

Some passengers, including the man pictured between the abuser and the guard, tried to step in and stand up for the guard.

The outburst came after the guard asked the man to take his feet off a seat.

The passenger, who appears to be intoxicated, can be heard repeatedly calling the guard a "n***er" and a "black c***".

"Learn some f***ing English, because this is Australia, c***, I can't understand you," the young man yells.

The tirade continues with the man saying: "Do you even have a citizenship, you f***ing n***er?"

He continues to berate the security guard with racial slurs, as well as abusing other train users during the five-minute rant. He also challenges the guard to a fight.

Other passengers can be seen looking on in disgust throughout the video, with two men stepping in to try to get the man off the train.

The man then turns his anger on them, before his friend who filmed the whole incident manages to drag him off of the train.

The video of the October 2 incident, which was uploaded to Youtube on Saturday, has sparked outrage.

AFacebook page was set up to find the man behind the tirade, gaining hundreds of followers in four hours and bringing a strong backlash from users.

Australian rapper Fortafy also shared the video, condemning the attack. Within hours it had been shared almost 10,000 times.

On Saturday night a Facebook page in the name of Kader Boumzar posted an apology for the incident.

"I was just drunk couldn't remember shit so stop over reacting (sic), but I am proud to be white! OWS STAND STRONG!"

He later posted: "I'm really sorry to everyone that was affected by the video I really cannot remember anything out of all honesty the post made before was someone else I know this is no excuse. But can you all see fromy (sic) my point of view that I was a F***ing idiot and I'm really sorry."

Police said they had not yet received a formal complaint, but are investigating.

Premier Campbell Newman condemned the attack and spoke to the security guard concerned, Joe, about the incident, telling him he showed admirable restraint during the attack and that he was absolutely disgusted by what Joe was subjected to.

Before talking to Joe, Mr Newman said: "I just want him to know that his decision is his about whether he chooses to make some sort of complaint but I can assume him, all QR staff, supporting contracted security staff and the travelling public that we are going to be taking action if we can," Mr Newman said.

He has also promised to take action against the young man behind the racist tirade.

"We'll look at whatever we can do to go after this individual. It was not on, totally inappropriate and some Facebook apology doesn't cut the mustard as far as I'm concerned.''

Prime Minister Tony Abbott also condemned the tirade, calling it "un-Australian".

Queensland Rail praised the guard for his cool behaviour during the "appalling" incident.

A spokeswoman labelled the incident "appalling" and said the rail company would assist police investigations to potentially bring about the prosecution of the attackers.

"We are disgusted at the anti-social behaviour of this passenger towards our contracted security officers," she said.

"We strive to provide a safe workplace for our people to see this occur is appalling.

"We congratulate the security officer on his response and attempt to safely de-escalate the situation.

"We have contacted the security company to offer our support to the guard."

Mr Newman also praised the guard's self-control.

"I want to applaud him for the dignity and aplomb which he showed in a very difficult situation," he said.

"He didn't inflame things. From what I've seen he did a really good job in difficult circumstances and I want to tell him that first hand.''

The security company contracted by Queensland Rail also praised the guard, commending his "professional conduct and adhering to correct protocol" during the incident. The company said it was proud of Joe and thanked the "passengers and the general pubic for their support in this matter".

The incident comes less than a month after Gold Coast woman Larna Watmough, 21, received a suspended two-month jail sentence for screaming racial abuse and assaulting a 77-year-old man on a bus.
