SHOCKING new details have emerged of the depraved horrors allegedly inflicted on children in the Philippines by Australian man Peter Gerrard Scully, including making some of his victims dig their own graves.

The 51-year-old was arrested in the southern city of Malaybalay on February 20 on child sex abuse charges, but has also been implicated in the murder of a girl whose body was found buried at his former home.

Now Australian Federal Police officers are preparing to head to the island nation to assist local authorities with their investigation.

Scully, formerly of Melbourne, is accused of kidnapping and sexually abusing numerous children, as well as filming the activities and distributing the footage to paedophiles on the internet.

Manila-based news website Rappler overnight published a disturbing account of Scully's alleged abuse, after tracking down an 11-year-old girl, given the pseudonym Daisy.

Daisy and her cousin, aged 10 and dubbed Queenie, say they managed to escape after five days of alleged horrific abuse.

They were initially coaxed to the man's home by his accomplice and live-in partner Carme Ann 'Angel' Alvarez last September, they say.

Daisy alleges Scully repeatedly abused the girls and made them engage in bizarre acts, including digging two holes they now suspect were to be their graves.

When they weren't digging, Scully would allegedly abuse them while Alvarez filmed them. When he was finished, the girls say they were instructed to continue digging. The pattern went on.

"They were filming, taking photographs while we dug our graves, and they again brought us to their room, this time, I was tied with a nylon cord, my hands, my feet — I could not move."

On one occasion, Daisy said she feared she would be murdered during a particularly violent session of abuse.

"I was crying and screaming so much that Alvarez covered my head with a pillow," she alleges. "I choked so much but Scully continued his abuses on me. Alvarez slapped me and said that I if don't stop crying, Peter will continue doing this."

Miraculously, Scully and Alvarez left the house on the fifth day, giving the young girls a brief window to make their escape, Daisy said.

They fled and found their way to a market nearby where Daisy's parents worked. They were taken to the police but by the time officers found the house, Scully was long gone.

Two months later, Angelito Magno, a senior investigator with the National Bureau of Investigation in the Philippines, told the ABC that two teenage girls were found naked and chained in the bedroom of a unit Scully rented.

Again, he escaped before police arrived.

"Our investigation led us to at least seven other girls that he had abused. His racket has been active for around three years," Magno told the ABC.

Late last month, the elusive alleged predator was arrested following a three-week surveillance operation.

Five days later, a team from the NBI went to a house where Scully used to live and found the body of a 10-year-old girl they allege he murdered after abusing.

The AFP confirmed to the ABC on Sunday that it would work closely with local authorities on the investigation, including on the ground.
