WILD storms have pitched Sydney into darkness, bringing down trees and causing flash flooding across the city. To make matters worse, the Bureau of Meteorology has also predicted large hailstones.

Suburbs expected to be most badly hit include Horsley Park, Liverpool and Londonderry. As the storms move towards the southeast, Parramatta, Sutherland, Sydney Olympic Park and Richmond followed by Sydney Airport, Ryde and Waterfall.
● If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place. Ring 000 if you need rescuing.
● Unplug computers and appliances.
● Avoid using the phone during the storm.
● Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
● For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132
500.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also in force for the Mid North
Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Northern Tablelands
and parts of the southern Tablelands, Riverina and Lower Western districts.
