MELBOURNE has completed a stunning upset by defeating Carlton at the MCG today.
The Blues have been the focus of intense media spotlight all week but were outplayed by the winless Demons to the tune of 13 points.
The Blues were behind for almost the entire day and couldn't muster a final quarter comeback.

Carlton started the match well, booting three of the first four goals.
However Melbourne hit back and trailed narrowly at quarter time, before storming to a 17-point lead mid-way through the second term. The Blues did manage to kick two late goals, however, to cut the deficit to under a goal at the long break.
In Adelaide, Port Adelaide trailed a determined Brisbane outfit early before gradually working its way on top of the Lions.
The Power then put the foot down in the third quarter and are cruising towards a big win to celebrate their 2004 Premiership reunion.
The two clashes are part of five being played across the country on Saturday.
