Sam’s ex says she deserves better than Blake

Dumped bachelorette Sam Frost thanks close friends and fellow female show competitors for their support and still doesn't know why she was dumped.

SAM Frost's former flame, actor Paul O'Brien says jilted Bachelor winner "deserves so much better" than her failed TV romance.

The ex-Home & Away heartthrob says Frost is "a star in the making" adding that he hasn't ruled out rekindling his own relationship with the heartbroken beauty somewhere "down the track".

"Sam just needs to do her thing, this is her moment to shine," he says of reuniting with Frost.

"We have a lot in common so we have stayed really good friends but have always been in different places.

"We will see what happens down the track. She just needs to enjoy whatever comes out of this."

Ironically O'Brien, 36, was almost a Bachelor himself. He was runner-up to Andy Lee in the Cleo magazine competition in 2006.

The couple, who dated in 2011, had lunch after The Bachelor finished filming but, The Logie-winner says, they didn't talk about Frost's former fiancé Blake Garvey or the show.

Garvey has gone into hiding this weekend amid revelations he runs a male stripper service out of his mum's house and rumours he has now taken up with one of Frost's competitors, Louise Pillidge.

"I didn't watch it and we didn't talk about it _ we had other stuff to catch up on," O'Brien says.

"I am not surprised to hear that people really like Sam though. She's genuine. She's such a romantic at heart. She's beautiful.

"I have always thought she was a star. When we were going out I could see we were both performers and that she had such natural talent and encouraged her to give it a go. But she wasn't interested in the spotlight."

O'Brien, who once appeared on the Channel 7 reality singing competition It Takes Two, says he is not a fan of the genre after his own experience.

"Reality TV is like wrestling _ all the moves are fake but real people get hurt trying to entertain the audience," O'Brien said.

Production company Shine would not comment on Garvey and Pillidge's relationship.
