AUSTRALIAN musician, Megan Washington, has settled her long-running dispute with Qantas however the airline maintains it was never in the wrong.
The ARIA award winning artist took legal action against Qantas last year seeking $500,000 in damages for its alleged unauthorised use of a recording of her singing "I Still Call Australia Home" at the airline's 90th anniversary party in 2010.
The singer believed the airline had broken copywright laws and affected her reputation by using the video on its website, YouTube channel and during in-flight entertainment.

A spokesperson for Qantas told news.com.au:
"We have never accepted that we misused this video.
"Qantas settled to put an end to the dispute, where the legal costs far outweighed the value of the claim.
"While settlement details are confidential we are pleased the dispute has come to an end and believe the litigation was settled in a very satisfactory manner for Qantas."
While Fairfax has reported Washington emerged from the dispute with a "significant sum", the airline was quick to point out that the final hearing relating to legal costs found in favour of Qantas.
