AH, the internet. Where else would wrapping your face with sellotape be given a stage to shine? The sellotape selfie — or Sellofie — is here, it's suitably strange and it's going viral.
Thousands of people are using the clear sticky tape to transform their faces into mashed up mugs and post their grotesquely skewed and squashed selves to Facebook and Twitter.
Yes. This is a thing. And it's getting bigger as the idea, which was supposedly inspired by Jim Carrey in the movie Yes Man, is taking the online world by storm.
We can pretend to roll our eyes at it, but they're pretty funny.
Some posts have some unbelievable augmentation going on.

The originator of the movement is believed to be Lizzie Durley, 21, from the UK who turned a bad day at the office into a sticky internet sensation.
"I got the idea from Jim Carrey's office scene in Yes Man," she told the Daily Mail .
"I was having a bad day and remembered that scene from the film which really tickled me.
"I figured people were getting bored of the whole 'selfie' craze - I know I was."
"So I just applied the concepts of the selfie to this idea and it resulted in sellotape selfies."
The great thing is all you need is a roll of sticky tape, one face, minimal dignity and, ideally, no adult supervision because they'd only tell us how stupid we are.
It's all a harmless bit of fun. Well, until you have to rip all the tape off and take half your hairline with it.
